Basil, Fresh

A fresh bunch of basil. Unlike dried basil, which is more muted and concentrated, fresh basil is delicate and provides a vibrant, aromatic burst of flavor. Fresh basil has a tendency to turn brown/black quickly in the refrigerator, so we serve our basil as bunches in a commercially compostable bottle of water. Tearing the leaves by hand instead of cutting them releases the natural oils without bruising them on a knife blade. Use it whole in a classic Caprese salad or tear the leaves to use in dinner salads, sandwiches, and other dishes. Grown using organic, no-spray, and chemical-free practices. 100% of the proceeds from produce/plant sales fund our paid student internship positions.
